my eyes need it
A day of music and sleeping
A dialogue with a friend
And you?
What are you working on?
We are like creepers tangling our selves in each other’s life
And still we are our selves no matter how tangled
Did you move a little?
I play with two one meter copper tubes and since I’ve been doing that my back hurts less. It is a wonderful thing to feel the length of those solid tubes as an extension of one’s self and the power with which they embrace me with the movement of my arms.
Do you play an instrument?
I am a beginner at the guitar and I am fifty-one, someone reminded me yesterday, not fifty two as I’ve been thinking, and I had never understood that music is one of the most beautiful soul sculptors that we can access. If you don’t play an instrument yet, which one would you like to play? On the one hand it fortifies one’s self because the effort involved in the practice strengthens it and on the other the music reminds us that life has its own song and that we are interpreters and creators. I particularly enjoy Sor. Sometimes I play to make up songs from the songs I am learning thinking that if those few notes were made to sound so beautiful by the author if I move them around and play with them they should also give a beautiful result. This is a wonderful practice because it makes me really think about the notes and listen.
Do you eat well?
I had forgotten to remember that food grows out in the sunlight and by the moon and now that I am remembering it, I don’t only eat tomatoes and fish but Ocean, Sun and night filled with stars and thank every man and woman who had to do with placing it on my plate. I am beginning to feel well nourished.
I ask
Because you matter to me
And to wish you well.
